Near the top of the list was the Nissan 300ZX, whose shark-like looks, impressive handling, and user-friendly nature make it a great choice for affordable fun today. This 1994 Nissan 300ZX convertible is a fine example with the desirable 5-speed manual transmission, so it's ready for top-down fun this summer. The 300ZX looks even... better as a convertible than as a hatchback, and the rock-solid platform doesn't seem to mind being topless one bit. Shiny black paint makes the sporty ragtop look like a million bucks, emphasizing the long, low shape and with just 67,511 original miles, this one is remarkably well preserved. Nissan's paint quality was quite good and it's held up reasonably well over the past two decades. It's not perfect, of course, and there are signs of use and age, but this car will still get peoples' attention as it cruises through traffic and a professional buff job and a visit to the paintless dent guy would take it up a notch. The headlights, which are one of the Z's most distinctive features, remain clear and bright (someone added aftermarket clear marker lights that look trick), and the flush-fitting tonneau cover gives it a sleek profile when the top's down. There's little doubt that this car was built by and for drivers when you climb inside. The black leather buckets are firm and grippy, holding you in place during spirited driving but remaining comfortable for long-distance hauls, too. The dash is low, giving excellent sight lines and in typical Japanese fashion, all the controls are at your fingertips on short stalks or pods that line the outer edges of the instrument panel. Entertainment and HVAC sweep down the center stack and end in the shiny shifter for the highly-desired 5-speed manual transmission. As Nissan's flagship, everything was standard in the Z, particularly the convertible, including A/C, power windows and locks, and a great-sounding AM/FM/cassette stereo system. The leather's in excellent shape, with only the driver's seat showing any notable wear, the carpets are extremely nice, and there's a bit of storage behind the seats as well as a somewhat useful trunk out back. A black canvas top has an impressive fit with great weather seals that make this convertible close up like a coupe and that roll hoop gives it impressive rigidity that you can feel. The naturally-aspirated 3.0-liter DOHC V6 was the mid-level engine in the 300ZX, and the only one available in the convertible. With 222 horsepower on tap, performance is energetic, even today, and it makes a wonderful guttural growl at full throttle. These engines proved to be virtually indestructible in the real world, and while they respond well to modifications, this one is completely stock. It starts quickly and easily, just as you'd expect from Nissan, idles perfectly, and actually pulls down decent fuel economy as long as you're not stomping on the loud pedal all the time. Handling is agile, but they gave the convertible a softer edge, so it's more of a grand touring machine, albeit with powerful brakes and an all-independent suspension. The prior owner purchased the car approximately 10 years ago with 54k miles on it from a Z enthusiast in their then home state of Ohio, and had owned it since then. The car has always been garaged, and driven only on nice days. It was only in the rain if I was caught out in it, and of course never driven in snow. This Z has only received the highest level of care. Every bit of maintenance aside from basic oil changes done by myself, was completed by Ohio Z expert Tim Davis with OEM or better parts. During the ownership of the car, I have spent over $5,000 in parts alone for maintenance and some tasteful upgrades. I have all receipts for the parts should you like to have them. Maintenance and mechanically speaking, the car is in turn key condition. Every major pain point with the car has been addressed already, so this beast is ready to roll. This includes a full timing belt service at 58k miles, which included proper PFR6B-11B plugs, PVC valves, custom engineered Ramey Z idler studs, upgraded Koyo radiator, all radiator hoses, and a new fuel filter. The clutch was replaced at approximately 60k miles with a Southbend DXD TZ SS clutch, which is rated for (575TQ) much more power than she is currently holstering at the crank (~450 TQ). At that time, the main seal, throwout bearing, and pivot ball were replaced. Additionally, everyone knows the injectors are prone to failure on the early Z32 cars. Therefore, I also replaced the fuel injectors with NISMO 740cc injectors and paired them with a DW adapter kit. I also added new Hawk HPS brake pads, and a complimentary master cylinder brace. I performed all oil changes myself every 2k miles with nothing but full synthetic from Mobil 1 or RP. There is also a new oil pressure sending unit as well as an upper left control arm. Last, I did purchase a new 5 year battery just the other weekend. The car has all systems go as you would expect from the factory (OEM Nissan stamped windows/t-tops, climate control, power locks, etc.). The car fires right up, purrs very nicely with no lifter tick and does not smoke. Cosmetically, the interior from the factory was cloth and re-upholstered with black leather.The car is outfitted cleanly with a CD player as well as a bazooka bass tube in the trunk. Additionally and as expected, the car has zero rust and was not smoked in at all. Performance wise, the car has some tasteful and quality breather mods. It is outfitted with a Selin 2x intake, Z1 sidemount intercoolers, and a full 2.5” full exhaust system from the turbos back. The system includes 2.5” downpipes, 2.5” Specialty Z high flow cats, and a 2.5” Stillen stainless steel quad tipped exhaust. The car has a great sound to it, does not rattle whatsoever. The car has never failed emissions with the SZ cats. I also outfitted the car with an unorthodox underdrive pulley, and also installed the overdrive water pump pulley as well to return that to normal speed. I also outfitted the car with an HKS EVCS boost controller and custom Specialty Z chip/fuel program. I run the car at 14psi, but did turn it up to 16psi for a dyno run I did. The car put down 364HP and 388 TQ, indicating approximately 420 HP at the crank and 450 TQ. Terms & Conditions:You are entering a binding contract. Sale price does not include any Title, License, Registration, State or Local Taxes or Processing Fees. Payment: We require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of winning or commitment to purchase. Full payment is required within 7 days of offer acceptance unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing. If deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said timeframe, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered void. For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred), cashiers check, or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears).We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. Shipping: We have access to a network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway and upon your schedule. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shippers custody. Buyers are welcomed to trailer vehicles home and we are happy to have everything ready to see you off with your new vehicle. Drive it Home: If you plan to buy and drive home, please keep some things in mind. Anything is possible when it comes to a vehicle, especially a classic or antique one. We recommend transporting all vehicles to your home first, then driving it locally. Get to know the vehicle and its tendencies before embarking on a long-distance trip. If you choose to drive your new vehicle home, buyer accepts all responsibility as we are unable to control what may take place once it leaves our facility. Documents & Vehicle Titles: All purchase documents are sent immediately upon purchase. To avoid delays, we recommend returning any required documents within 24 hours of receipt. Please allow up to 30 days for vehicle titles. Usually titles are available sooner, we ask for the extra time in the event there are unforeseen circumstances. VIN Verification: We photograph the primary VIN location of every vehicle and make sure that VIN exactly matches the vehicles current title. Buyer agrees to hold seller harmless from any disputes arising from other hidden or secondary VINs present on the vehicle as seller only verifies the primary VIN location. If needed, it is the buyers sole responsibility to verify secondary VIN locations their specific state may inspect, prior to purchase. Mileage: Occasionally our vehicles may be driven or simply moved around our facilities. Slight differences may occur so we recommend you confirm actual and current miles prior to purchase. Condition: We cover the obvious and do our best to describe our vehicles in detail. Even so, please have a transparent conversation with us before purchasing.
